I was born and raised in Louisville, KY. Like most people, I started “coloring” at a very young age. However, while I was being told to “stay in the lines”, my lines were expanding. When a friend of my parents showed me how to draw monsters from any shape imaginable, I threw out the coloring books and began creating my own lines. Later, during high school, I was fortunate to have an art teacher who inspired me to start drawing more realistically.

I joined the Air Force at 18 and after being stationed in many different parts of the country, I decided to move back to the state I had enjoyed the most, Florida. It's the best decision I ever made! There, I met and married the love of my life and together we raised our wonderful daughter.

In the late 90’s I attended the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale, to study graphic design for our promotional products business, Studio DeVere. While studying at the Art Institute, I picked up some painting classes and that has been in my heart ever since. With my husband, Jeff’s, loving nature, I have been able to fulfill my love of art. I have also gone on to attend the Milan Art Institute where I honed my skills in painting and mixed media.

Moving forward, our roles are shifting; Jeff used to sell a product and I would create a design for it. These days, I embrace the freedom of painting to my heart's desire and Jeff helps me sell it. We still live in Florida, and when I'm not in the studio, or we're not attending art shows and gallery openings, we are blessed to be able to enjoy the beautiful weather of the tropics.

No one knows what the future holds, but I’m sure, for me, it will be a lot more art, and with the Grace of God, it will be magical!
